Why Choose a Heart Shaped Diamond Wedding Ring
The heart is one of the most romantic diamond shapes, and one of the hardest to cut well.
A well proportioned heart shows a clear cleft, two even lobes and a crisp point. When those details line up, the stone reads as a heart from across the room.
Lab grown diamonds make this shape far more accessible. They are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds, so you get the same fire and brilliance at a more considered budget. That often means a larger stone, a fuller eternity band or a higher colour grade for the same spend.
Every centre stone we use is independently graded. You can read more about our IGI certified solitaires and what each grade means before you buy.

Heart Eternity Bands
A heart eternity band sets a continuous row of heart cut diamonds around the finger. It works as a wedding band on its own or stacked against an engagement ring.
Our Love Eternity Band and Heart Brilliant Lab Grown Diamond Eternity Band are the core of this style. Both suit brides who want the heart motif to be the main feature rather than an accent.
Heart Solitaire and Halo Rings
For those who want a single statement stone, a heart solitaire keeps the focus on the diamond. A halo adds a frame of smaller stones that makes the centre look larger and brighter.
Browse these designs in our engagement rings collection, including the Heart Shape Solitaire and Halo Heart Engagement Ring.
Mixed Shape Bands
A multi shape band combines hearts with ovals, pears or rounds. It suits anyone who likes the heart but prefers it as one part of a varied, modern design.
Comparing Heart Ring Styles
| Style | Best for | Everyday wear | Stacking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heart eternity band | Making the heart the main feature | Very comfortable, sits low | Excellent with most engagement rings |
| Heart solitaire | A single statement stone | Moderate, centre stone sits higher | Pairs well with a plain or pavé band |
| Heart halo | Maximum sparkle and visual size | Moderate | Best with a straight, slim band |
| Multi shape band | A modern, varied look | Very comfortable | Works as a standalone or stacked |
How to Choose the Right Heart Diamond
Heart cut diamonds have a few specifics worth checking before you commit.
Shape and ratio. Look for a length to width ratio close to 1.00. Higher ratios look slimmer and more elongated. Lower ratios look wider and softer.
Symmetry. The two lobes should be even, with a defined cleft between them. Uneven lobes are the most common flaw in this cut.
Carat size. Very small hearts can lose their outline once set. For a solitaire, a stone around half a carat or above shows the shape clearly. In eternity bands, a skilled setter keeps each heart distinct even at smaller sizes.
Colour. Heart cuts can hold a little colour at the point. A higher colour grade keeps the stone looking crisp and white, especially in white gold.
Setting. A V shaped prong at the tip protects the most delicate part of the stone. Ask about this when comparing designs.
Choosing Your Metal
All Trellis wedding rings are made in solid 18K gold. The choice comes down to skin tone, existing jewellery and personal style.
- White gold gives a bright, icy finish that lets the diamond look whiter.
- Yellow gold feels warm and classic, and suits vintage inspired designs.
- Rose gold adds a soft, romantic tone that pairs naturally with the heart shape.
If you plan to stack your wedding band with an engagement ring, matching the metal usually gives the cleanest look. Mixing metals is a deliberate style choice and works well in modern stacks.

Diamonds are the hardest natural material, so the stone itself is very durable. The point is the most exposed area, which is why a protective prong at the tip is recommended for rings worn every day.
